Written around 2001, a few years after his own trips around the United States, Mikhail wrote "Gehenna, Nevada" as a film script because of the intense visual experience one gets traveling from the lush, rolling green hills of Maine and New Hampshire to the arid bleak flats of Nevada. And so it goes with the psychologies of the story's characters as they travel the route.
